In Loving Memory of
Anthony ‘Tony’ William Duran
April 06, 1960- October 16, 2025
We little knew that morning that
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone;
for part of us went with you
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you,
you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.
Anthony William Duran, 65, of Albuquerque, NM, went home peacefully to Heaven on
October 16, 2025. He was born in Albuquerque, NM, in 1960 to Willie Guillermo Duran
and Precilla Jaramillo.
Anthony grew up in Albuquerque where he graduated from Rio Grande High School in
1978 before beginning his career as a refrigeration fleet mechanic first working for
Thermo King, Borden Dairy and eventually retiring from Creamland Dairy.
Tony as he was affectionately known, was a smart, loving, and sharp-witted individual
with a great sense of humor. An avid Redskin fan and lover of classic rock he was a
shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this
earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His faith was
a reflection of who he was — strong, steady, and full of grace. He lived with purpose,
spoke with kindness, and loved with a heart guided by the Lord. And though his earthly
journey has come to an end, we know that his spirit lives on — in the memories we
hold, in the love he shared, and in the eternal peace he now has with Christ. We ask
that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and
for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing
him. Anthony will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Clara Duran, mother Precilla Jaramillo, sisters
Christina Griego and Rosemary Horner, Brother-in law Jim Horner, Uncle Jerry
Jaramillo, Aunts Corina Briones and Rosalie Moya, Sister-in-law Evelyn Sanchez,
Brother-in-law Antonio Mendez and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father Willie Guillermo Duran, Uncle Joe
Jaramillo, Uncle Tino Jaramillo, Nephew David Griego Jr, Great Nephew Nathanial
Griego, Sister-in-law Tonie Mendez and Brother-in-law Randy Sanchez.
