Benny Jesse Escovedo
Benny Jesse Escovedo, age 66, passed away on December 3, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, surrounded by the love and care of his three children. Although he had been living in Denver, Colorado, he spent his final days near his family, where he was loved and comforted.
Benny was born on February 26, 1959, in Denver, Colorado and was raised in Mora, New Mexico, in Las Aguitas. He was a passionate and intelligent man. Philosophical by nature, Benny always sought to understand the world around him—things needed to make sense to him. Conversations with him were often deep and meaningful.
A carpenter by trade, Benny’s greatest passion was working. He worked for as long as his body allowed him to, taking pride in his craft and hardworking labor. He loved music and playing pool. Music was a constant in his life, played loudly and proudly, it brought him joy and a way to express himself.
He was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, and his presence will be profoundly missed.
He is survived by his children: Daughter Dora Nicole Escovedo; Son Benny Urban Escovedo, his wife Louisa, and their children Lucas and great-granddaughter Nadia, Isabella, Gracie Love, and Trinity; and Daughter Juliet Jessica Escovedo and her children Catalaya and Christian. He is also survived by his brother, Dennis Escovedo, and his children.
Benny was preceded in death by his parents, Connie Dora Escovedo and Benjamin Julian Escovedo; his grandmother, Andreita Bustos; his uncle, Urbano Trujillo and his nephew, Lonnie Escovedo.
A Rosary will be held on Friday, December 19, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Gertrudes Church in Mora, New Mexico. A Memorial Mass will follow at the same location on Saturday, December 20, at 10:00 a.m., with a meal to be held afterward.
Benny Jesse will be remembered for his strength, his work ethic, and his love of music. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
