Marc has begun his journey to reunite with his beloved family and friends who are no longer with us. He had many strengths and accomplishments as a musician, businessman, outdoorsman, balloonist, and mentor. He loved his family, friends, rock & roll, America, things that go boom, computers and a variety of outdoor adventures. His dynamic personality, empathetic heart, sense of humor and unwavering strength were only a few of his best qualities. Marc is survived by his children: Tara Olguin, Dawn Hughes, Nicole Wilson, and Matthew Marc Wilson; his grandchildren: Isaiah Olguin, Connor Hughes, Logan Hughes, and Paige Hughes; his brother, Jim Wilson; his "adopted" children and grandchildren; his many friends and other family members; and his canine friend, Trouble. His memory will be a blessing for everyone who knew and loved him.

I had the privilege of getting to know Marc over the past couple of years, and I will always remember his kindness and gentle spirit. He often spoke about his love for ballooning, and it was clear how much joy it brought him. His stories always made me smile. It was truly an honor to be part of his care and to get to know both him and his family. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I hope you find comfort in the many wonderful memories you shared and in knowing that he touched the lives of those around him.

Dad, You were an amazing father, mentor, and my best friend. Growing up I faced some difficult challenges. I was going down a pretty bad path and we would talk. You always had the patience and guidance to help me realize who I wanted to be. I thank you for showing me the path. We had amazing experiences together, whether that was in the outdoors, ballooning, or just having intellectual conversations. You truly helped me become the man I am today and I will be forever grateful to you. Anyone can be a father, but it takes a true man to be a dad. You were a great dad to me and many children who weren't even your own. At times trying to help people ended up hurting you, but that showed who you were. You would try to help those who needed you. You were bigger than life and lived to the fullest, experiencing opportunities most would dream of. Success is measured by where your heart is and the profound experiences that one goes through. You were the most successful person I have known. We didn't have a lot growing up. You made it work no matter how hard it was. Regardless of the situation somehow you could turn it around. You taught me so much about life and I hope to pass that on one day. In the movie The Lion King there was a quote that always stuck with you. "Remember who you are!" You always genuinely knew who you were and everyone who knew you will too. You were my hero, you were my light, you were my DAD! You were Lars of the Vikings! I love you so much and will never forget all that you were. I truly lost a part of me in life but gained a piece of something greater beyond this world. Rest now and say hello to all that have fallen for all of us.

I have known Marc for 55 years, I have only known my older sister and my mom longer. I can remember as a little boy in Rockaway New Jersey following Marc and his younger brothers Jimmy and David around like a lost puppy . Marc was always able to ditch Leeanne and I,leaving his brothers to entertain us. I think I made him nervous I remember him always asking me why I like banging my head into the wall while laying in my bed! I grew up back East Mark and my mother moved to NM in the early 70’s I moved here in 1984 after graduating high school I remember all I wanted to do was see Marks band that my sister had told me about! To me Mark was the coolest ever I would go to his house and watch them practice in the garage as often as I could I felt so lucky to have that front row seat ! Mark was always role model that I looked up too and I always listened to what he had to say, I will miss you Marc I will never forget you, love your stepson Brandon

I will always cherish the wonderful memories of working with Marc, and enjoying our time off. The hardest working man I have ever known, as well as one of the kindest. I miss you already, my friend. May God keep you by his side. We will all be together soon.

Dear family and friends of Marc, I am so very sorry that we lost such a wonderful and beautiful soul this past week. One thing we know for sure is that he is in a better place and that he is no longer suffering. I've known Marc since I was a toddler and have lot's of good memories with him. He helped me in so many ways as I was growing up and in some ways I think of him as a father. He walked me down the aisle and gave me away at my wedding this past June, what a gift from him. Another gift he gave me is my incredibly beautiful and amazing sister, Tara Sue. I am forever grateful for the love and support I got from Marc.

You will be missed. I will always think of you whenever there are fireworks or hot air balloons in the sky. I will miss your jokes and laughter. Gone too soon. We love you.

Dear friends and family, I knew Mark briefly, but I also had a chance to work with him as a temp worker on a couple of roofing jobs. He had an awesome work ethic. He also gave the hand of my beautiful wife to me in marriage. I enjoyed spending time with him at the family gatherings, and I know he was a valuable friend and family member. I feel I have lost a new friend and family member too soon. I'm glad he passed peacefully. Mark will be greatly missed.
