Terry Don McNabb, 78, of Albuquerque, passed away July 6, 2026. Born
May 1, 1948 to Lora Sue Hodges McNabb and Millard McNabb and youngest
sibling to Clayton, Beryl (Dean), Wayne, Robert, and Doug McNabb.
Terry spent his formative years in Albuquerque’s south valley in
constant motion, both to the delight and distress of his doting
mother. After graduating from Albuquerque High School in 1966, Terry
moved to southern California where he met and later married Justine
Gardiner of Moorestown, NJ. The young couple relocated to NJ where
they welcomed their first child, Colette in Jan. 1971, then PA where
son Rob arrived in Feb. 1972. The family moved back to Albuquerque in
1974 where Terry managed local Firestone centers. Terry’s true passion
was stream fishing and he spent many weekends fishing rivers of
northern New Mexico. Terry opened CRT Automotive in 1985, initially a
one-man operation, he built and sustained a more than 30-year business
with a full shop and office staff in Albuquerque. Terry dedicated his
life to “the shop” and his customers; it was the center of his
universe for many years. Terry met Susan J. in 1992; she and her
family quickly became a core part of his life and remained as such
until he died. Through his mid-life, Terry continued to fish and later
hunt with friend Marc on weekends. He also enjoyed woodworking, Lobo
football, and home projects both inside and outside his home,
demonstrating a keen eye for quality goods and beautifully crafted
spaces. On May 3, 2015, his grandson, Zachary, was born to parents Rob
and Lesya. Terry retired in 2013 after his health began to decline. In
his final years Terry spent a few hours a week at friend Dan’s machine
shop, working projects around his house, enjoying many holidays with
Susan and her family, and long visits with Rob, Justine, Zachary,
Colette and her partner Rex.
Terry will be deeply missed by family and friends.
