James Edward McDow
James E. McDow age 63 of Santa Fe, NM passed away on April 5th 2026. Jim is survived by his Father James G. McDow of Santa Fe, NM: Brother Eric D. McDow and wife Nancy H. McDow of Albuquerque, NM: Sister Victoria deJong of Oceanside, CA: Nephews Ian deJong and Sean McDow of Albuquerque, NM and Niece Jessica McDow of Albuquerque, NM. He is preceded in death by his Mother Kathryn J McDow of Santa Fe, NM and his beloved dog Beast of Pecos, NM.
Jim was a loving son, brother and uncle as well as a dedicated friend to so many. His wit and sense of humor could draw a crowd at any event. He was an avid outdoorsman spending most of his spare time hiking and camping the mountains and canyons of New Mexico. Jims pets were his children, and he loved them as he would any person. His dog Beast was his hiking companion and party buddy. They were inseparable until Beasts passing in 2017. In later years Jim enjoyed following most sports particularly the NFL and NCAA Basketball which he was very well versed. He cared deeply about family events and was always close to his brother and sister and their families. He was always a good friend and will be missed by many.
There will be a celebration of Jim’s life Saturday April 18 at 1:00pm located at 11012 Edith Blvd Albuquerque, NM 87113
In lieu of flowers Jim would appreciate donations to the Santa Fe Humane society.
