John Paul Marrah
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Paul Marrah, AKA Jack, a man of boundless energy and intelligence. Jack was born in Oelwein, Iowa on December 29th, 1939, and went home to be with the Lord on September 9th, 2025. Through his journey of 86 years, he touched many lives with his wisdom, wonderful sense of humor and an unwavering spirit of perseverance.
Among the many milestones of his well-lived life, Jack served in the Us Air Force. He enjoyed gardening and cooking. He liked watching his western show, but what he loved the most was talking with friends and family telling his funny jokes. He definitely had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh and smile.
Jack’s legacy of humor, perseverance, and kind and gentle spirit will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His remarkable life will forever be an inspiration.
In addition to his parents Paul John & Vera Marrah. Jack was preceded in death by his wife Carol Marrah the love of his life, daughter Karen Irene Marrah, brother’s William Marrah, Joseph Marrah and Jimmy Marrah.
He is survived by his loving children, Veronica Colcleasure, Jackie Sowells, Tammy Marrah, Paul Marrah, David Marrah, Renee Estrada and Jessica Marrah who were the lights of his life. Grandchildren Sandra, Tanya, Johnna, Chad, Eva, Alex, Tracy, Shasta, Kord, Esmeralda, Miguel, Guadalupe, Angelica, Clarissa, Arturo and many great and great-great grandchildren, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
