Jon Morris Hill, age 76, passed peacefully into the arms of our Savior on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. He was born on July 31, 1949, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jon lived his life full of grace, joy, kindness, and a deep devotion to his family and to God. He spent most of his life in New Mexico, always willing to lend a helping hand to the community he loved. He attended Sandia High School and art school in Boston. As a cartoon artist, he produced his own humorous cartoons, clever dioramas, and video films. He was also an expert on helmets and founded a helmet museum. Jon donated the land for Valley View Christian Church in Edgewood. Later in life he joined the security team at CNM community college, from where he retired after many years of dedicated service.
Jon was known for so much to so many. As a husband, he was loyal, respectful, and unwavering. He never faltered and stood by his wife through every changing season.
As a father, he was patient, wise, and committed. He led by example, providing life lessons with unconditional love and thoughtful encouragement.
As the youngest of 4 siblings, he was caring, joyful, and warm. He brought laughter to his family, always on the ready to provide a joke with his quick wit and charm.
As a child of God, he was faithful, obedient, and humble. He lived a life of quiet devotion, and he worshiped his Heavenly Father by honoring His name, loving his neighbor, and forgiving others.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, John Donovan Hill, and his mother, Eleanor Hill. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Elizabeth Hill, who were married on September 13, 2002; his three children: Donovan Hill (Katrina Hill), Lelanya Yates (Dusty Yates), and Bart Hill (Michelle Hill); his two stepchildren Dominic Chapin and Aleathea Chapin; his two grandsons and five granddaughters; his brother, Ralph Hill (Susan Hill), and his sisters, Ann Rupert (Ronald Rupert) and Jean Larson (Bob Larson); his numerous extended family members and friends who were also profoundly influenced by his life.
Throughout his life, Jon's faith in Jesus Christ was his firm foundation. As family and friends, it is with this same faith that we find comfort and peace during this time of loss. Let us rejoice that he now rests in the loving arms of our Lord.

Our deepest condolences to the family of Jon. I remember him as a loving kind and fun cousin. I first met him when my mother came out to NM when her mother had passed away. I remember the fun times we had getting to know our cousins and the mischief Jon would get us into. I miss your humor and smiling face.
